SP electronics products are covered by a two-year warranty (one year of commercial warranty provided by the manufacturer and one year provided by the seller/distributor by law). The warranty period begins on the date of issue of the invoice or receipt, which, in the event of product failure, must be sent with the product. The warranty does not apply to products that have suffered:

Damage from a fall.
Tampering by the user.
Fire and/or heat damage beyond the limits indicated in the instruction sheet.
Electrical damage due to incorrect installation.

The manufacturer and its suppliers assume no liability… (download full PDF).

Yes, all our sensors can be connected to other standard or add-on electronics using dedicated Plug & Play solutions. You can find the various dedicated applications here: https://spelectronics.it/moto/sen-moto/

The cut-off is a period of time during which the engine is turned off, preventing it from generating torque (and power). During this period, the transmission and its mechanisms are free from force, allowing them to move freely, allowing for upshifting.

Adjusting the cut-off is intended to limit the stress placed on the transmission components (cut-off too short) and to limit the time the engine remains off without generating useful power (cut-off too long).

CUT-OFF TIME TOO LONG: When riding the motorcycle, upshifting will be accompanied by a power deficit, whether long or short, similar to a lack of spark plug current or a lack of fuel supply. The cut-off should be decreased. IT NEVER CAUSES MECHANICAL PROBLEMS.

CUT-OFF TIME TOO SHORT: When riding a motorcycle, shifting up a gear will be accompanied by a sharp metallic noise, similar to a sharp blow to the transmission components. This is the result of the engine regaining power before the next gear is fully and perfectly engaged. The cut-off time must be increased TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION.

Yes, carbureted engines generally do not have a battery to provide power for the device, so we have developed a device that, connected directly to the ignition coil, creates, through sophisticated dedicated hardware, the power necessary for the device to function.

YES, as long as the motorcycle is equipped with a push rod where the gear shift detection sensor can be applied, or equipped with a lever installed directly on the gearbox splines (such as Supermoto/Offroad/PitBike applications and specific applications for Ducati SBK, Aprilia RSV and MV Agusta models).

Yes, all our Quick Shift Kits are designed with Plug&Play solutions, that is, with connections to the ignition coils or injectors depending on the availability of the specific connectors on the market.

NO, the downshift assist (Blipper function) is a device that is not part of our sporting DNA as it is not a performance product, thus, in our opinion, losing the pleasure of having full control of the vehicle. It should also be considered that a true Blipper, to function properly, requires sophisticated operating algorithms and a wealth of real-time information on the operating dynamics of the engine and the vehicle. For an aftermarket product, this requires a complexity of setup and application that would far outweigh the costs/benefits…that’s why they only work on motorcycles that come standard with downshift assist systems, even though, in our opinion, they take away all the fun of riding a motorcycle!

This can’t happen.

This is because during the electronic gear shift’s intervention phase, the engine is shut down for a few thousandths of a second (the cut-off time), and no combustion process occurs due to the lack of spark or injection. Thus, the engine only loses power for the fraction of time required to shift into the next gear.

If programmed correctly, the quickshifter does not cause any damage to the transmission components.

The only programming required is the cut-off time: the time interval during which the quickshifter shuts down the engine to release torque from the transmission gears and allow for a higher gear.

Like any programmable device, however, if incorrectly programmed, it can cause problems, such as with an incorrectly programmed injection.

If the engine cut-off times are too short, the transmission is subjected to mechanical stress due to power being restored before the gear is properly engaged. Therefore, it is always recommended to start programming the quickshifter with a very high cut-off time and then reduce it to the optimal value.

  • Faster and smoother shifts: upshift without closing the throttle or using the clutch.

Reduced rider fatigue: ideal for sports and off-road use.

Easy installation: thanks to model-specific Plug & Play wiring.

Reliability: components resistant to vibration, water spray, and high temperatures.

Configuration is manual via microswitches or rotary switches, depending on the model. For example, the EQS DTI allows you to adjust the cut-off time from 50 to 80 milliseconds with precision of 3 milliseconds. A PC or smartphone is not required for configuration.

Yes, SP Electronics kits are designed to withstand harsh conditions. The control electronics case is made of ABS plastic that is resistant to water (not immersion) and vibrations, thanks to the complete resin coating of the electronic board inside.

Installing the SP Electronics quick shift kit is quick and easy, thanks to the Plug & Play solution. Assembly time generally varies between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the motorcycle model and the installer’s experience.

Installation is simple and designed to be done independently by users with minimal manual skills. Plug & Play kits simplify connections. However, for motorcycles with complex systems or racing ECUs, professional assistance may be useful.

No, SP Electronics kits do not alter the original ECU parameters. They connect non-invasively to the existing wiring and only manage the cut-off during gear changes, without requiring permanent modifications to the vehicle.

An incorrect cut-off time can cause:

Harsh or incomplete shifts (cut-off too short)

Loss of performance (cut-off too long)

Fortunately, SP Electronics systems allow for easy and precise adjustment to suit your riding style.

If your bike has an original quickshifter, you can:

Replace it with the SP system (often higher performance)

Or skip the SP kit if you don’t want to overlap two systems.

It’s always a good idea to check the compatibility and performance of the original system.

Each kit typically includes:

Gear shift sensor (push, pull, or push-pull)

Control module (control unit)

Plug & Play wiring

Installation manual

Some models also include specific supports or brackets.

The SP Electronics CGS4 PRO Kit stands out from other quick shifter kits with the following advanced features:

Dual-effect sensor (Push/Pull): detects both push and pull, allowing use on standard or reversed gearboxes without mechanical modifications.
Wide compatibility: can be installed on carbureted or fuel-injected motorcycles, with 1, 2, 3, or 4 cylinders, even in racing configurations.
Ultra-precise current cut-off: allows for quick and personalized shifting with adjustable cut-off time.
Resistance to extreme conditions: fully resin-coated, waterproof (not submersible), anti-vibration, and resistant to high temperatures.
No battery connection required: it powers automatically only when the engine is running.

In short, the CGS4 is designed for those seeking the ultimate in performance, adaptability, and reliability, and is ideal for sports, racing, or specialty motorcycles.
